TellThemWhatYouThink doesn't work very well anymore

This site was set up in 2008, to help people find Government consultations more easily, and to show that it could be done: quickly and easily. The site has never been funded as such, and has relied on volunteers for maintenance and support. It hasn't had much maintenance recently and this shows: some consultations can't be found and some functions don't work as they should. We are currently seeking funding for a new version of TellThemWhatYouThink.

In the meantime, you can search a limited number of departments for open consultations at the Directgov Consultation Finder.

Local petitions and Calls for Action: Consultation

Consultation published by The Department for Communities and Local Government View original »

The Governance of Britain Green Paper (July 2007), said that petitions can provide an important way for communities to express their views and generate local debate, boosting the relationship between residents and councils. It also announced the government's intention to consult on people's right to 'call for action' and the strengthened role of councillors in that process.

This consultation seeks views on how arrangements for local petitions can be strengthened and how the new system might operate. It also seeks views on the Councillors' Call for Action, introduced under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

Timeframe

This consultation started on 27th December 2007 and ended on 20th March 2008.
