This site was set up in 2008, to help people find Government consultations more easily, and to show that it could be done: quickly and easily. The site has never been funded as such, and has relied on volunteers for maintenance and support. It hasn't had much maintenance recently and this shows: some consultations can't be found and some functions don't work as they should. We are currently seeking funding for a new version of TellThemWhatYouThink.
In the meantime, you can search a limited number of departments for open consultations at the Directgov Consultation Finder.
The proposed Marine Guidance Note has been completely revised to replace existing MGN 63 (Use of Electronic Aids to Navigation).
The purpose of this MGN is to update the guidance given inline with “The Merchant Shipping (Safety of Navigation) Regulation 2002 (SI 2002 No 1473)”.
The draft notice affects and will be for the attention of all Ship owners, Masters, Skippers, Ships’ Officers, Fishermen, Recreational Sailors and all concerned with the navigation of Seagoing vessels.
The information in this notice is being provided to raise the awareness of the need for correct use of navigational equipment by watch-keepers and dangers of over-reliance on a single electronic navigational aid.
