Local Authority Performance Targets for Under Achieving Pupil Groups

Consultation published by The Department for Children, Schools and Families View original »

This consultation is on a new model for LA statutory targets for under-achieving pupil groups. It would replace the current model based on all 17 Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, some of which outperform the overall cohort; but includes for the first time Free School Meals (FSM) pupils. Our proposal would substantially reduce the performance management burden on LAs and provide a more robust process to drive up standards by encouraging the setting of meaningful targets. This consultation has been extended until 6 October 2008.

Timeframe

This consultation started on 26th August 2008 and ended on 6th October 2008.
